Pictures
The standard JPG, GIF, and BMP picture formats are supported both by the picture preview feature and the internal picture viewer in the Figure Vault software. When you double-click a picture in the preview pane, it will open the picture up with your configured picture viewer and show you the picture at full size.

Picture Viewers
The Figure Vault comes with an internal picture viewer that will view JPG, GIF, and BMP images. You may also use the default picture viewer configured for your operating system. You can change this by selecting the Tools->Options menu option and change the Picture Viewer to "Use OS Default Picture Viewer".

You can add other picture formats that are not supported, but you will have to view them in your OS Default picture viewer.

Managing Your Pictures
There are two different methods you can use to manage your pictures in the Figure Vault. You can set the management style from the Options Menu.

Let Figure Vault manage the pictures
This option will let Figure Vault handle the storage and the filenames of your pictures. Anytime you add a picture, the picture will be copied into the Pictures folder of the Figure Vault software. The original picture is left alone and is not used by Figure Vault.

Leave pictures in their original location
The Figure Vault will not make a copy of the picture you are adding. It will leave it wherever you have it stored on your hard drive and simply add a link pointing to it. If you delete the picture off your computer, it will be gone from the Figure Vault also. This feature is useful for a more experienced computer user that may already have their pictures organized in using their own method.
