Service Record: O’Brien, Miles. Currently Chief Operations Officer for Deep Space Nine. A superior student at Starfleet Academy, O’Brien graduated fourth in his class. While assigned to a small-sized cruise ship, O’Brien specialized in transporter protocol. Following transfer to and service aboard the U.S.S. Rutledge, O’Brien was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant J.G. His exemplary relief services after the massacre on Selik 3 earned him a transfer to the U.S.S. Enterprise, where upon he served at many key posts, such as transporter tech, security officer and bridge conn officer. Upon Lieutenant Geordi LaForge’s recommendation, O’Brien was assigned the post of transporter chief.

Station Note: O’Brien has often side-stepped traditional engineering procedures to remedy problems on Deep Space Nine. Though Starfleet does not condone such actions as a rule, Chief O’Brien has performed many engineering miracles aboard the station, considering its jerryrigged condition.
