Announcing the Past Toys Reborn Custom Contest.

This contest theme is past toys reborn. This contest involves finding obscure toy lines from the past that you may or may not have had and revamping them for modern day. Nothing easy like a simple repaint or a few minor mods will be accepted. The more obscure the better, even obscure characters from mainstream lines like Transformers are okay as long as it isn't one of the characters you see constantly or who hasn't had a ton of figures already made (example: Rodimus Prime is okay but Hotrod isn't). The same rules as always apply. Remember to include a back story, clear pictures, and a photo of the original character/figure so we can see what he/she/it looked like back in the day. Erm, could someone clarify what we are actually supposed to do for this contest? Are we taking figures from the 80's and 90's and remaking them with ML or DCUC articulation?

Seems pretty clear. Make a custom of a (not out of a) old/obscure figure from an old/obscure toy line. The base can be whatever you want.

Does it have to be the same scale as the origional?
probably not...

It doesn't have to be the same scale. You can use ML or any other base. It's basically redesigning a toy you had and updating it as you see fit.

The contest description seems pretty unambiguous to me. Anyway, great idea for a challenge--lots of room for creative reinterpretation; I look forward to seeing what everybody comes up with!

Yeah sorry about that. I had it planend out for later this year and got a message from yami saying we needed a contest asap.

??? 'Unambiguous' means 'clear as crystal'; in other words, I thought the contest description was more than adequate.

Would it be acceptable to do a figure from a classic line that was planned, but never produced? A customizer wouldn't be able to just make something up, it would have to be a documented thing (prototype photo, sketches, etc.). Here's an example of what I'm talking about: The 1980s Advanced Dungeons & Dragons toy series had a number of unproduced figures including a play set. There are photos of the stuff, but it was never put into production.

probably i planned on it for later in the year when i had a chance to plan it out but someone had to go and tell me we needed a contest with like 1 day to go so i didn't have much to work with plotted out.
