Postby Top-notch comix » Fri Jul 31, 2009 7:34 pm

I went there last night... they had ALL the Nemisis wave tons of em! even the variants! I picked up the red Dare Devil and the camo Punisher... they also had Ult Warmachine, heros reborn Ironman, and Scarlet Spidey from the Ares wave... this is the first time my walmart has been able to have up to date stuff on its shelves!

Dude!!! *High Five*
I just got back from WM myself, I was disapointed by the Marvel Universe and Origins selection and then i kept moving down the aisle and saw them...
NEMESIS AND ARES WAVE FIGS!
I nearly crapped my pants.

Perfect freaking timing too since it's payday.
I got:
Nova (YES!), Camo Pun, Red/Yellow DD and Cat Beast from Nemesis.
I left behind:
4 Ares War Machine, 3 Ares HR Iron-Man, 4-5 Ares Spideys and 1 Nemesis Camo Punisher.

God I wish my Wal-Mart was like that. I would kill for a Heroes Reborn Iron Man or Scarlet Spider! All my Wal-Mart has is Power Rangers, WWE, and new Transformers and new G.I. Joes. But I want comic figures! DC or Marvel.

that's how my Wal-Mart usually is too... it's weird... I guess it's just God's way of compensating for there being no good comic shops around

Legends are nearly non-existent around here~Thats why i almost crapped my pants when i saw some. xD

Check your WM's guys, Theres a lil surge of Nemesis figs showing up on ebay.
I wonder if Hasbro just decided to "Really" release them finally...
Or they screwed up and sent them to the whole West Coast instead of just the San Diego area.

I'll definetly check it out. But I'm already spoiling myself this week, so maybe next week. I got me a Commodore 64, and I'm pre-ording WWE: The Rise and Fall of WCW, which comes with a n.W.o T-Shirt! I can't wait to relive the glory days of wrestling!

I don't know that I would use the term "amazing" b

After reading this, I headed to a local Wal-Mart and located the Nemesis wave. They weren't even stocked on the same aisle as the other Marvel figures. Anyways, YES, Wal-Mart had them, NO, they didn't have all of them, YES, I bought one, NO I wouldn't buy the whole line...I bought the Daredevil, he actually looks pretty decent, but I will probably do some modding to him. I almost picked up the Camoflauge Punisher, he did look cool, but just not cool enough for me to spend money on. Tigra and Beast were awol, so I'm not sure that I would be interested in them or not. I was really disappointed with the rest of the line, perhaps I shouldn't have been, I mean this is HASBRO. They really have used as minimal paint application as possible, and continue to recycle previous sculpts. I don't really mind the recycled parts, unless they were obviously meant for a specific character and they do nothing to change the sculpt and simply cast it in a different color. So yeah, Wal-Mart has them, but they are far from awesome in my book. Perhaps if they quit brokering "exclusive" figures with the toy companies, and kept their shelves well stocked with fresh products, I might be inclined to think of them in a better light.

What part of Texas are you in, Maelstrom?

I'm in north Houston and I haven't been out today to look if any of these have them.

I agree, the quality on these are NOT up to snuff.
My excitement was kind of killed off when i started inspecting the figures...
Major lack of paint apps, But ToyBiz only really did this anyway.
What really annoys me is the crappy and random articulation.

Nova is my favorite from the bunch, Has the best artic and they actually dug into the universe and made a new char (I have a feeling he was made from left over toybiz blueprints though).
But his helmet should have been removable, And more paint detail would have been nice.

Daredevil is pretty nice, But his hands lack artic, and his feet lack artic.
The paint is great on the Red/Yellow Variant despite the lack of dry brushing/apps.

Beast has terrible articulation!, Especially for a figure of it's size.
And is in terrible need of paints apps.

Tigra has nice paint apps but has awkward/lacking artic.

Punisher (Camo) has decent basic paint apps, but awkward scaling in some areas, weird hands, dumb artic.

I'm not sure on Black Bolt as i haven't had a good look at him, But he looks like he might have decent artic.

And the Nemesis BAF is way too frosty, And seems like it's missing something.

the artic on black bolt is bad... he has no swivel joints on his thighs or waist... makes him look weird...

I'm in the DFW area, I only checked one store. Up here you can't turn a corner without running into one.
