Custom card art commision request

Postby the_6th_Astron » Wed Jun 05, 2013 1:20 pm

Ok, so I need a Star Wars-esque card with front and back art. It's going to have to be a little oversized as I'm making a custom that will be around 5-6". I would try doing it myself but I don't have photoshop.

Shoot me a message for details if you want to make some cash.

I've only dabbled in that end of things but my brother has done a lot of work with that kind of thing and he told me that photoshop is the way to go and well worth the money even if you get an older version of it.
You'll be lucky if you're one of the few to find someone who can tolerate you.

Photoshop is your best option.. I'm currently working on Back Cards for custom figures, and Photoshop is the only software to use..

You can Google "Action Figure Protective Bubbles" and have a look around.. There are few places that sell.. Or check out eBay and search "Protective Blister Bubbles" which will bring up a fair bit.. There are some on there that are a bubble container that you can seal up, but you can just cut the back section of the bubble off so you only have the main bubble section that you can stick onto your cards.. Also, a lot of people just go to a Dollar Store or something, and buy up cheap figures.. Gives them parts they can use as donor parts to custom figures, but then also they can clean up the bubbles and reuse them for their customs..

You can print straight onto cardboard, but quality isn't the best.. Or do as majority people do and print on glossy paper.. Then cut cardboard to your design (Using template), a good option for this is something like comic book back boards.. Then cut out design on the glossy paper and spray adhesive to back of it and glue into place for front and back of backing card..

Do a search for tutorials on "Custom Action Figure Back Cards" and you'll find a heap that will give you an idea better.. Hope helps..

If you have specs for the size you want it and just some examples of how you'd like it to look, I'd give it a shot! I've never made a custom card, but I'm a graphic designer, and know my way around Photoshop/Illustrator/etc!

Forget Photoshop, download GIMP, it's free, and just as good.

Theres also Photoshop Elements. It runs around $65.00 on Amazon. Its not as powerful as the full Photoshop but should work for what you want to do.

The man speaks the truth. GIMP is awesome, especially for the price...or lack there of.
