Removing Duke Nukem's legs

As the title says, anyone trided removing Duke's (and Sam FIsher's) legs? I mean the entire lower torso area, eveyrhing under the waist. It doesn't seem to be on a standard Neca ball joint. I'd like to avoid drilling holes if that's possible.

I have been told (by a very reliable source) that Duke's waist heat/pops off. It's just a big peg.

Yeah, I played with it a little yesterday and the legs popped right off.
