Removing top layer or layer of paint from a figure

Postby xashern » Tue Mar 12, 2013 3:46 am

Hi, New to the forums and had a question that I feel belongs here;

I got the " Dark Knight Returns" Play Arts Kai figure as a gift recently and saw that it has some minor white over spray. ( to be honest it looks like whoever painted the figure let the brush his his lower knee area above his boot ) I'm curious if the pro's out there that customize figure know any tricks that could remove it without damaging the rest of the paint or if I should just let it be. Any info or help would be appreciated.

Acitone or fingernail polish remover can both be used to strip paint, but deppending on the kind of plastic it is it could also melt or warp the plastic if your not careful. So unless it's apsolutly neccisary I'd just leave it alone.
You'll be lucky if you're one of the few to find someone who can tolerate you.

Try some 3000 grit sandpaper and gently sand it off. The grit on it is so fine it will only take off the very top layer of paint, the only downside is it's like 6 bucks a sheet.
