Few years ago I started making a scarecrow suit, but I didn't want to make the standard Wizard of Oz version, so I made a dark one. I never got around to making permanant body-coverings so I just used dirty flannel and jeans with a fisherman's hat and black gloves and boots. I was thinking of making a brown/black color scheme with some chains, but all I finished was a giant metal (aluminum) scythe, which is steadily rusting away in a junkyard somewhere. I can always make another. Scared the kids good with that thing :]

The white parts are made of a mesh-like fabric so I can see out but you cant see in. The little cut in the left white was an accident. I was playing around with teh scythe and it got too close for comfort :evil:

Heh scaring little kids I love it. Mask looks good Doc. It resembles a comic I once seen called Grendal.

Yes, it looks like Grendel's and it's annoying because I had no idea who that was until everyone started telling me :evil:

I think I'll make the scythe again, this time bigger and with more spikes on it :badgrin:

Yeah, that's why I added the little black "X"'s as "stitching" to make it look more scarecrowish. I did have to sew the white parts to the mask for real though. What if I added a big pointy wizard hat instead? :lol:

So really its not hard enough that I will either destroy a hood or injure myself(both I could probably manage to) :lol:

Heh, nah, it isn't hard.

-Make the holes for your eyes so you can see clearly in all directions.

-Cut out the eye design from some mesh fabric, the kind that lets you see through it but people can't see in.

-Sew on the eye over the holes. Or glue them, doesn't matter.

-Then figure out a way to keep the mask on. The drawstring is usually enough but you might want to add a safety-pin or two.
