What Are You Reading?

Postby BurningDoom » Thu Jun 04, 2009 10:05 pm

Currently Getting:
DC Comics:
-Blackest Night - The most anticipated series of the year for me!
-Blackest Night: Superman - Same reason as above, and I'm a Superman fan.
-Flash: Rebirth - It's starting off slow, but I have faith it will still blow me away.
-Green Lantern - Best ongoing book on the stands.
-Green Lantern Corps - Great companion book to the main GL book.
-Justice League: Cry For Justice - I love my JLA (but hate it tainted by McDuffie), and love Robinson, I can't wait for this!
-Justice Society of America - We just lost the man, Geoff Johns. But Ordway has made the transition great for me with this 1st issue since Johns' leave.
-Superman: World of New Krypton - It's starting slow for me, but I'm giving the series the benefit of the doubt since it's the only in-continuity comic starring Superman.

Marvel:
-Amazing Spider-Man - I hope Peter gets to whoop Norman's arse.
-Dark Avengers - I loved the team when they were Thunderbolts (but read it later in TPBs), and am really like the red carpet treatment their book is now getting.
-Dark Reign: Spectacular Spider-Man (Venom) - I hope this is good, I'm a big Venom fan. But I have a feeling it won't be, Venom just hasn't been getting the respect lately.
-New Avengers - Hit or Miss for me, current story is meh, hopefully the next will be better.
-Ultimate Avengers - I can't wait! I hope we get the real Ultimates back, not this watered-down version we got in Ultimates 3.

-Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (IDW) - Finally, a comic adaptation for the greatest of the TOS movies!

Recent Drops:
Marvel:
-Ghost Rider - It just got so confusing to follow that it almost felt like a chore to keep up with.
-Mighty Avengers - New team is crap.
-Nova - I like it, it's just that comic prices are going up and I don't like it enough

DC Comics:
-Action Comics - NO SUPERMAN!
-Superman - NO SUPERMAN!
-Booster Gold - The shine has wore off for me, & seems to be getting repetitive

-Star Trek: Crew - Another craptacular fully created by John Byrne. I keep buying the guy's stuff hoping he can recreate that magic he had in the 80s on X-Men, Fantastic Four, and Superman. But everytime I'm disappointed.

dangergirl and hopefully battlechasers if i can find it online. I wish people would post the TPBs of these things instead of individual issues on something other than torrents >.< I want to find TF comics (80s g1 and then the later g1 retellings) but they're nowhere to be found.

Crimson: see I told you I'll have to show you where Bennie's is when you get to college lol. Sadly the magazine shop in Greenville closed I think.

I downloaded about 12 issues or so of Dreamwave's G1 Tranformer comics. Plus all of Danger girl.

I wish they'd put the TF comics all in a massive DVD collection like they did the x-men since Dreamwave had teh rights to the marvel stuff and IDW got those rights when Dreamwave folded.

I'm pretty sure all the Marvel stuff, still is in Marvel's Library. IDW just has the rights to print new material. When Star Trek moved from Marvel to DC, DC wasn't able to reprint or reference the Marvel stuff.
