Anyone that has read the latest issue of Green Lantern Corps (GL Corps #37) has seen that the Black Lantern Corps are now ready to show themselves to the DC Universe. There is no doubt by this time next month, the Power of Death will be fully-unleashed on the DC Universe. Scar has made her move, and the science-cells on OA have been busted wide open, cosmic criminals of all sorts from different Corps and individual evils alike are thrown at the Green Lantern Corps. Black Energy began "leaking" into The DC Universe and OA's automatic defenses shattered like glass. To make matters worse, The Guardian's Ace up their sleeve, Ion, has just sacrificed himself to shift his solar system's sun from Red to Yellow, empowering his entire race of Daxamites to Superman-like abilities and able to fight off the invasion of the Sinestro Corps.
And most of the Guardians themselves, as well as Hal Jordan, are off of OA dealing with Agent Orange in the main Green Lantern book while this is all going on.
