Media Release -- Kids comics? We have plenty of them! New content and storylines? You get that, too!

The Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Committee is pleased to announce the Gold Sponsors and their Comic Books for FCBD 2010, which will be held Saturday, May 1st, 2010.

Selected by retailers who serve on the FCBD Committee, this year's roster of Gold Sponsors and their books includes a comic book for everyone's tastes.

"This year's roster of Gold Comics looks amazing," said FCBD spokesperson, Elissa Lynch. "We're pleased to showcase the best the comics industry has to offer—and hopeful that this year's comics will drive new customers to see what's great about comics and their local comic book shop."

Gold Sponsor comics include special FCBD editions designed to attract new readers into comic shops with some of the industry's most widely recognized characters. A complete listing of FCBD titles, including all Gold and Silver Sponsor comics will be announced on December 23rd and can be ordered through the January issue of Diamond Comic Distributors' PREVIEWS catalog, on sale at all comic book shops on January 6th, 2010.

Additionally, Mad Engine, Quebecor Printing, and Upper Deck are also serving as Gold Sponsors of the ninth annual FCBD event through their generous support of FCBD's marketing and promotional efforts.

It's been happening for decades. It's not gonna end anytime soon. Marvel did the Crossover Event first with Secret War, then DC did it bigger with Crisis on Infinite Earths. DC created Green Lantern, so Marvel created Captain Marvel/Quasar. Marvel had Wolverine, so DC created Lobo. The list goes on and on.
