Regarding what Sentry does in Siege #2 (spoilers)

How do you feel about the brutal bum kicking/extremely gory death he hands to Ares? I'm really mixed on my feelings about it. On the one hand, seeing as how Siege is the "big event" this year, we all knew someone was going to kick it, and this one carried more weight for me than the Wasp did in Secret Invasion, or Goliath in Civil War. However, that might just be because they've been grooming Ares to be a big character through out the last couple years, probably for the single purpose of making his death have an impact.

On the other hand... come on! He's the god **** God of War, and he didn't even put up a fight. It was what I imagine watching the Mike Tyson of Grizzly Bears mauling a grade school student would be like.

It also made me feel like The Sentrys MO of literally ripping his foes apart is getting old. How about a good 'ole punch through the head or something for a change. I rarely find myself thinking this, but maybe take a page from DC's play book. Between Black Adam and Superboy Prime in the Infinite Crisis alone there were like 10 good examples of how super strong characters can use that strength in lethal ways.

I agree, it was pretty lame. I'll bet Ares will be back though. I think they're just looking for a fresh start with Ares since they built him up to be a big badass and then did nothing with him.

Same goes for Sentry. He's like the 3rd or 4th attempted Superman rip off and they still just don't know how to handle that type of character. Not to mention his back story is so jumbled they either need to retcon the hell out of him or kill him off entirely. I don't know what's worse: the constantly ripping people in half, or when he beat Molecule Man. The only way Sentry can be a good character is if they get rid of the void and make him sane. The classic Marvel achilles heel thing is really just ruining the character.

Have you seen this yet? A character is going to die at the end of Siege. A lot of people think it's Sentry, personally I think it's Pym.

Didn't even think of Bucky, makes sense though. The thing throwing me off is the Dr Doom looking hand, what exactly is he holding onto because it doesn't look right.

I'm thinking handing the shield back to Steve may end up having been a mistake for old James Barnes.

I think the armored hand is probably Iron Mans. We already know he's going to be wearing some kind of armor thats probably not quite Extremis, that might just be what the new gauntlet looks like.

I hate Sentry with a passion is a whiny little emo nut job I mean come on Black Adam over in DC just took down most the DC comic roster but you don't see him rip open God tier characters like wonder woman or Captain Atom (he did kill Terra but thats believable)

Its not so much that Ares gets killed that bothers me, i don't even mind that he got ripped in half (though I do think the way it was depicted was a tad bit too graphic for an "everyone" comic). I just dont like that he died jobbing to someone. Jobbing is never cool, and its absolutely the laziest way possible to be like "look how powerful this character is!".
