Guild wars. You have to pay for the game, but the game play is free. I may have a copy lying around if your interested.

You pay for the expansions as well, so if you want to be able to explore the whole world/do all the quests, you have to buy more and more game.

Still a lot better than pay to play. I played it for about a year and never had to buy the expansions. My only issue with the game was the no nonhuman playable characters.

I used to play both that and guild wars, and guild wars was prettier, but ddo had other good stuff to.

i really like the fact that its turned based but a differnt kind than i've ever played
plus the entire world is your map thats cool
