A tireless and charismatic novelty seeker, Tucker (Matt Czuchry) tricks his buddy Dan (Geoff Stults) into lying to his fiancée Kristy (Keri Lynn Pratt), so they can go to an legendary strip club three and a half hours away to celebrate Dan’s last days of bachelorhood in proper style. Tucker drags their misanthropic friend Drew (Jesse Bradford) along for the ride, and before they know it Tucker’s pursuit of a hilarious carnal interest lands Dan in serious trouble with his both the law and his future wife.

The ensuing blowout leaves Tucker uninvited to the wedding and ankle deep in a mess of his own creation. If he wants back into the wedding and the lives of his best friends, he’ll have to find a way to balance the demands of friendship with his own narcissism and selfishness.

Joe Dirt Rides Again … as an Animated Show on TBS

Postby Golden Wolf » Sun Jan 31, 2010 6:42 pm

The Adventures of Joe Dirt continues … in animated form. Oh admit it, you watch “Joe Dirt” whenever you stumble across it while channel surfing. The film has become a big cult hit on DVD and cable, which is no surprise given, well, it reruns pretty on cable TV pretty darn often, about once every other week if I’m not mistaken. The movie is incredibly watchable, which is a shocker for a movie that is so incredibly bad. In the 2001 film, David Spade stars as lovable loser Joe Dirt, a mullet-sportin’, trash-talkin’, possibly sister-lovin’ trailer park trash type who wanders the vast wastelands of America looking for his mom and pop. He eventually finds them at the end of the movie, so what’s next? Don’t know, but I’m sure it’ll be kinda dirty and nasty, if Spade has anything to say about it.

In a deal with cable network TBS, Spade will return to write and produce a “Joe Dirt” animated series, and one presumes, voices Dirt as well, though the article doesn’t really say either way. Spade will oversea the show along with Fred Wolf and Donick Carey, and the idea is to pair the show with TBS’s reruns of Seth McFarlane’s “Family Guy”.

So the question is, will an animated Brandy look as good as the real thing? Highly doubtful.

Marvel’s Kevin Feige Confirms Avengers Line-Up

Postby Golden Wolf » Sun Jan 31, 2010 6:46 pm

There have been a lot of talk about what characters will show up in Marvel’s upcoming “Avengers” movie (due out in 2012, mark your calenders, kids!), so here’s the skinny: according to Kevin Feige, who should know since he’s Marvel Studios’ main guy, the Avengers line-up will consist of five characters — Captain America, Thor, Iron Man, The Hulk, and Nick Fury. Well, he doesn’t come right out and say Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man, but that seems like a given. He does mention The Hulk and Nick Fury by name, though.

“My only concern is that when we launch a franchise.. whichever characters franchise that may be, it should stand on its own two feet. With Iron Man being the first one out of the gate, thank goodness thats what happend. Everyone loved it. Its our job to do the same with Thor and Captain America two years from now, so by the time The Avengers comes in 2012 its not just a team super hero movie with a bunch of characters with powers, its three people, four including Hulk , five including Nick Fury-who you have seen before in other movies, coming together for the very first time.”

Feige also confirms that they are trying to get Ed Norton back as Bruce Banner aka The Hulk, but doesn’t know if it’ll happen. I’m probably the only guy on the web who didn’t think Norton’s turn as Banner was anything special; then again, I also didn’t care very much for Louis Leterrier’s remake of “Hulk”, so there you have it.

Feige also elaborated on the Thor that will be showing up in Kenneth Branagh’s movie:

“We’re doing the Stan Lee/Jack Kirby/Walt Simonson/J Michael Straczynski Thor. We’re not doing the blow the dust of the old Norse book in your library Thor. And in the Thor of the Marvel universe there’s a race called The Asgardians, and we’re linked through this tree
of life that we’re unaware of. Its real science, but we don’t know about it yet. The Thor movie is about teaching people that.”

You can catch the full interview with Feige in this month’s issue of SFX Magazine.

SYFY Saturday Nights Starting To Look Brighter!

Postby Golden Wolf » Mon Feb 01, 2010 8:37 pm

Syfy is reinventing fairy tales and pop culture characters as part of its Saturday night TV movie franchise. The network is airing five titles that give a contemporary twist on a classic story, from "Hansel & Gretel" (years after escaping the witch in the haunted forest, Hansel returns seeking revenge) to "Little Red Riding Hood" (a descendant of Little Red discovers her family secretly hunts werewolves). Syfy's Saturday movies continue to be one of the last bastions of regularly produced made-for-TV movies. Each film is typically an international co-production made with a budget of about $2 million and shot on 35mm film. Syfy works with about 10 indie studios, which also distribute the titles on DVD. Each tends to average about 1.8 million viewers Saturdays during the network's twice-monthly original airings. Syfy's series of fairy tale titles kick off with "Beauty and the Beast" on Feb. 27.

Fast and Furious 5 aka Fast Five is All Engines Go

Postby Golden Wolf » Thu Feb 04, 2010 4:51 pm

Fast and Furious 5 aka Fast Five is All Engines Go
The Fast and Furious 5: Fast Five (2011) Movie — By Nix on February 4, 2010

“Fast Five”? Yup, that’s apparently the title that Universal is going with for the fifth entry in their highly lucrative “Fast and Furious” franchise. It makes sense, in a way — it is the fifth installment, so, uh, “Fast Five” it is, then. In any case, Variety reports that all the major principles have signed on the dotted line to return, including stars Vin Diesel
and Paul Walker, director Justin Lin, and producer Neal Moritz. The fifth installment will take place after the events of the fourth movie, and will find Dom and Brian as fugitives being pursued by “relentless” lawmen. I guess that means they don’t give up easy. What are the odds that they’ll end up teaming up with the boys to catch the real bad guys, whoever they end up being?

No word on whether Jordana Brewster, the sole remaining franchise girl, will return. As you’ll recall, Michelle Rodriguez’s character died early in the fourth movie, last year’s “Fast and Furious”, setting the stage for the rest of the movie’s plot. That film went on to make $350 million worldwide, and became Universal’s biggest moneymaker for the year. Obviously they were keen on getting another “Furious” movie up and running as fast as possible.

Justin Lin will return to direct, having helmed the previous two movies. “Fast Five” will also be the third outing on the franchise for writer Chris Morgan, who returns to do scripting duties. How hard is it to type “They drive really fast”?

“The Fast and Furious: Fast Five” is set to start shooting later this year for a 2010 release

Major 'The Walking Dead' Casting Rumors, Who Should Play Ric

Major 'The Walking Dead' Casting Rumors, Who Should Play Rick?!

What just arrived in my mail? Could it be the latest TPB volume of Robert Kirkman’s ongoing zombie masterpiece "The Walking Dead"? It sure was. Easily one of the best things I have ever read (just behind "Preacher"), it still hasn't settled in that AMC (the creative geniuses behind "Mad Men") will be bringing the comic to life as a TV series with Frank Darabont (The Mist) aboard to direct. What's been going through my horror-juiced brain? Who will strap on the boots of Rick Grimes, a small-town police officer from Cynthiana, Kentucky, that's what. While I have my own personal choices, some rumors have trickled on to the internet that I found quite interesting. Read on to see who is "said to be" in talks and then chime in with your own personal thoughts below (you never know who's reading).

While I don't really like to post rumors from sites I don't visit on a regular basis (because I'm not sure how credible they are), Big Shiny Robot is claiming to have some very reliable inside sources who know three names being thrown around for the role of Rick in Frank Darabont’s comic book adaptation shooting this May (more here).

I really hope the people at AMC understand how big of a decision this is. We're not talking about a single feature film, we're having a conversation about the face of horror, a man who will be crammed down our throats 13 hours a year for (hopefully) the foreseeable future.

So without further adieu, here are the 3 names rumored to be in the ring for Rick. One of which makes me sick to my stomach.

"The most reliable sources point us to JAMIE BAMBER as in the running for Rick,"

'Riddick' Plot Details Revealed, More Monsters!

Postby Golden Wolf » Wed Feb 17, 2010 6:12 pm

While Pitch Black was promoted as a horror flick, its sequel The Chronicles of Riddick took the film in a completely over-the-top direction. With Director David Twohy reteaming with action star Vin Diesel for Riddick, the third entry in the franchise, the question remained as to what direction they'd be going. The initial press release teased "darker", but left us in the dark. Thanks to EFM pre-sales, we've got the official plot crunch that you'll find beyond the break. Darker? Yes. Monsters? Yes. Bounty hunters? Yes.

""Riddick" delivers on both counts. Though billed as a back-to-basics approach to the character popularized by Diesel, the script features the character -- the most wanted man in the galaxy -- left for dead on a barren alien planet, dealing with "trisons" (three-legged bisons) and "mud demons." He must then contend with two squads of bounty hunters, one of which ride rockets called jetcycles."
