Bizarre 6" scale accessories website!

Postby blaynescott » Thu Feb 26, 2009 9:05 pm

Apparently, it's been linked from Fwoosh for a while, but for the benifit of anyone who hasn't seen it:

http://store.dollhousecollectables.com/ ... items.html

Apparently, it's a site that sells 6"-ish scale accessories for doll house builders.

In some cases, creepy accessories, like this in-scale jar of Vaseline:

In others, very useful, if you need a Mug of Beer for your custom:

I'm going to pick up an item or two, and take a shot with a MM + ML figure for size comparison in case anyone's curious.

Cheers,
-Blayne

I was browsing through the site, and it's like finding a serial killer's resource guide - the kind that build tiny models that have everything in them. It's all seems about *cough*controlling*cought* recreating the world in miniature.

Action figures are one thing - but replicating *all* the of the minutiae of reality in wood and plastic? *is nice air in through his teeth* - it's just a little strange.

I'm still going to try and buy a mini beer glass, american flag (for my Obama custom) and a wine bottle. No such luck finding revolvers, or other implements of death on the site though. They do have a croquet mallet set though. ;)

There are a couple of funky items for the batcave (books, toolbox, old fashioned desklamp etc), but it would cost like 200 quid to kit it out!!!!

Those are "1-inch scale" according to the specs, meaning barbie-sized. x_X

I know there used to be 6-inch dolls, that's what those old dollhouses were designed for, so some of the items there might be 6-inch scale, but you'd really need a coin for reference or something.

I remember my mom had some older dolls that were about 6" but for some reason barbie killed the trend. Even my grandma's old depression era corn husk dolls were about 6-7" these accories would be good if you wanted a diorama to have a look where a bigger item is closer to the camera. or if your character is a midget.

I take back the 1-inch scale thing, they might mean 1 inch = 1 foot, lol, which would make them about right.
