Marvel Select vs Marvel Legends Scale

Postby Buzzy Fret » Tue Nov 28, 2006 11:45 am

Hey all, I'm another newbie here and I gotta say this site is cool, fun and informative. It's great to see so much support and help. I'm very, very new to customizing so I hope y'all don't mind my extremely basic questions too much.

I was wondering about the scale relation between the Select figs and the Legends figs (pertaining to the regular sized characters not the bigger dudes like Thanos and Watcher) - are the Select out of proportion with the current Legends? I'm thinking about picking up a Select Spider Woman because the Legends one is nice so bad - or at least mine does. Also have seen some deals on the Select Black Widow and have been thinking about grabbing one.

Along that line of thinking - I scored an ML Series 1 Iron Man and he's a little bit bigger than all my other ML figs - did they make the figs smaller after the first couple series? I couldn't believe how big they made the Series 3 Thor - I know he's a Viking God and all but sheesh; he's waaaay outta proportion. Maybe I'm being too nit-picky.

I think The select figures lack some articulation that the ML's have. The first few ML series were somewhat bigger than the later series...I think ML's are way too inconsistant anyway. Hopefully Hasbro will get it right. If Herc is huge I'll be happy.

Oh yeah..Welcome to Figurerealm!!!

but are the Select figs significantly bigger? I see that they're supposed to be 7" but I assume that's an average number. Is the Select Black Widow gonna tower over an ML Cap America?

y'know; as far as the female figs are concerned - I think they could have a little less articulation for better / realistic female form. do they have to be able to do full splits?

thanks for the welcome ToymakerB!

Personally Im fond of full splits ;) But I digress. I think most of the selects are in fact 7".

i agree on the full split if we're talking a real live babe.

dang them and their arbitrary scales! I still might go for the Spider Woman - she's supposed to be tall ain't she? must refer to my New Avengers TPBs.

The Marvel Selects are way bigger than the normal MLs. I saw Moon Knight the other day and he was as big as the Series 3 Thor, if not bigger!

darn!!

I might still try to find a Doc Doom just because I think the ML one is kinda wimpy - Doom should be big and imposing.
