I got curious as to why you guys and gals liked the figures you grew up with. Y'know, stuff like SW, He-Man, Transformers, GI Joe, MEGO. Is there any other reason than "because they're frikkin' sweet!"?

when I was a wee tike in the early 70's there wasn't much around - the big deal for boys was GI Joe.

had the helicopter, the jeep, the HQ, the underwater sub-scooter thing, white tiger hunt set, the mummy set. the Joes were cool. then there was the kung fu grip Joe, eagle eye Joe and Bullet Man the Human Bullet GI Joe. life was good.

I had some of the first Mego superheroes when they came out. I distinctly remember the original Mego Batman had a removable mask and when he disappeared / got lost / was eaten by the dog and I got a new one I remember being angry that the mask wouldn't come off. they original one is probably worth a fortune now.

I have to start off like this before anyone else does. Well back in my day, SW, He-Man, Transformers, Had'em all, but my absolutely favorite toy was called Constructs, they were a building block like toy. They looked like a grey plastic C-channel that connected to a blue 6 sided knobby connector.

Knobby things xD I liked Legos but yuck, they're so darn expensive now.
