Definetly fewer made simply because the 2nd series of a dying line never sees much production.
I'm not sure if it's the case for BG but typically when a line is dying in the US it's around the same time that foreign markets start to get their shipments. Have you ever noticed that a lot of high priced, hard to find, later release figures are always in the hands of people in Europe?
The most recent occurance where something like this happend that I can think of is the monkey Tracy line. Where the Blank never saw a release in the US but she packed out in the last assortment of cases that went out to Canada. I'm sure there are numerous other instances of the same thing happening but that was definetly one of the most noteable.
