Why were the John Connor figures from the Terminator Salvation figure line so terrible?

Becouse they couldnt get licensing rights to Christian Bales likeness.

Apparently not only is he a snob but he's an expensive one at that. I'm waiting to hear horror stories about him on the news every night right now as they're filming stuff for the new batman in Pittsburgh right now.

It's actually the same reason why his likeness and voice isn't featured in the Terminator: Salvation video game, which is meant to be a prequel to the film.
