About my collection

Postby shaka » Sun Aug 19, 2007 8:00 pm

Hi, I'm what you can call a VERY LUCKY GUY!!,The reason is because I've been collecting action figures since I was 5 years old (I'm 31 now) my first figure was a Star Wars Darth Vader, ( figure that still part of my collection and is in a C-9 condition!!!). Anyway until 1999 my collection was very small (probably 50 figures) but, after I got married back 6 years ago, my wife started to increase my hobby (we call it "Addiction") And the last time that I counted my collection was up to 600+ figures and vehicles, and that was 4 years ago; now it is probably well over 1000 (and still growing). When I found this topic I though in sheering my story with all the collectors out there. see you next time with more updates on my passion of collecting action figures!!!

Cool! Most guys' wives are what keeps them from having a collection, not the other way around.

Imagination Asylum wrote:I'm not here to brag, just to say that I have been collecting for over 20 years now. On last estimate for insurance purposes, my collection was valued at close to $50,000. It fills an entire level of a house. (The Basement...no where else says the Wife.) Unfortunately for my family I have it all. Original Ninja Turtles, Rom Space knight, Six Million Dollar Man, Star Wars, Megos, All the Toybiz figs from the past 16 years, Legends, DC Direct, Micronauts, Mcfarlane, You name it I may have it, except sports figures and wrestling. Soon to be packed because we are getting a larger place. But the Wife says I'm not allowed any more room. My collection also includes 3 36 gallon bins of fodder, a customizers dream come true. I may run out of room but as I am getting older I am finding that I am more selective about what I buy..Like the Spiderman 3 5 inchers. Crap!! Hasbro is ruining the Marvel Stuff. Any way I also collect Vinyl Art Toys, but they haven't overun the house ...yet. Ok maybe I am bragging a little. To those of you that have the support of your loved ones...good. My ex hated toys and wanted me to get rid of almost all of them. I actually started when I said ..WHY?? Then I told her she needed to accept me for who I am. Well now I am remarried and my wife supports my career and my hobby. She said "your a toy designer, so you are allowed to collect toys."...What a wonderful wife she has been. Anyway I hope to chat with you guys and have fun here.

space is very important because it also lets me know when i am going overboard in my buying. i keep everything confined to a few cabinets, and a shelf in my restroom. updated pictures coming soon.

You should try to scatter them as decor around the house, then see what she says
