The best dust mask is a dual cartridge filter one like you see in the paint areas of Lowe's or any store such as Sears too. It can be pricey but is worth it.

Well I know if you want to apply super glue, or any kind of foul smelling paint, you gotta be in a well venilated area. Stay as close away as possible, but close enough to see what you are doing. You can even wear goggles and/or mask to protect your eyes and lungs from the fumes. Your eyes will sting, tear up a little. Your lungs, well you know when you hit an overdose of inhaled superglue fumes...I suggest a fan, because even in these hot days of summer, the air isn't really going to be helpful, it's just going to sufficate you...

It's a good idea to wear at least one rubber glove with the glue not just to prevent your fingers from getting glued together but also to prevent skin contact that can lead to an allergy to the chemicals in the glue.

keep you younger brother away from you when dremeling, you just might "aceddently" loose control of your arm, seriuosly though, dont dremel and talk at the dsame time, and keep an eye on the dremel and target

Yeah I've learned to be careful about that after my 3 stitches. Also always follow blade safety and cut AWAY from yourself.

Alwese alwese sand with gogles on wen sanding plasticks. My eiys swell up from the dust I don't know if this happens to everyone but better to be safe than sorry.

goggles are a good idea anyhow, especially using a dremel and if you wear glasses DON'T wear a good pair. Next time you get a new set keep the old ones for working with stuf tht could damage them. Even dust'll scratch the lenses and i don't know about you but i don't have the money or insurance for new glasses.

Yay I should start doing that the problem is my eiys have gotten so much worse sense the last pair I can only sea the basic outline of things with them on.

I found a sulootin to my problem I got perscriptian gogles a cuple of years back for sports but never thought to use them for this.

New safety tip:

When working with acetone, goof off, goo b gone and similar chemicals:

-Do it outside if you can cause the fumes will give you a killer head ache and might do brain damage.

-Be careful of the plastics you use it on.

-Don't pour the chemical into a plastic cup, it will melt the cup.

I got one, don't lick the paint brush, don't eat the sculpt, don't inhale super glue, and don't hold stuff in your teeth. Just my two pennies, even though non of that ever happend to me, it might happend to some of the younger customizers...

Don't cut yourself with the exacto blade! I did this four or five times over the weakend. The first time the exacto blade snaped and peices went flying. All the other times my hand just slipped. Also when using a power sander be carfull not to sand youre finger tips because that HURTS!

Seriously, don't lick the paint brush, don't do any of these, i'm 28 and gotta tell myself constantly....

Wow. I guess i'm very dangerous. I do all the stuff you guys have said not to on a daily basis. No, really, i do. Only thing i can add, and i do this all the time, is when u pop a fresh tube of glue, dont hold the cap in ur lips right after. It hurts.
