Not a Werewolf...And No, that wasn't Jesus lol. "The Confessor" is a Vampire and a Superhero from Image Comic's "Astro City" by Kurt Busiek. I have never actually read the comic, I remember when it came out, I thought is was kind of stupid for a Vampire to have a cross logo on his chest. But then I found out that He is a priest who (as a superhero) bears the cross on his chest to keep his vampiric tendencies in check. The cross is also supposed to cause him intense pain, so I pictured him having it forever scarred or emblazoned on his chest underneath his robes and capes. Like I said, I haven't read the comic, but I think the Graphic Novel titled "Confession" is basically the complete collected tales, and I'm looking for a copy...
Speaking of Vampires...here's a sneak peek of my next drawing which is not quite finished yet, but since I have gotten such nice feedback on this thread I thought I would share it. I am toying around with the idea of doing a "Vampire History" portfolio, I was thinking of doing pics of many of the major players in Vampire lore including characters from literature and cinema. Does that sound like a good idea? Anyways, this is Count Graf Orlok, perhaps more commonly recognized as "Nosferatu" from the 1922 silent film.
Remember, this is not finished yet...
