War For Cybertron

Just got it today and so far its pretty good. Not fond of the controls for the jets and the Chaser jets have crap weapons but megatron is cool. Arcee is an unlockable character and apparently the first DLC will contain all 3 preorder only characters they offered at stores. that's about it as it sounds like as usual the dlc crap is all for multiplayer, they need to make addon adventures like with fallout 3. its fun watching the credits as they have silly animations and G1 refference during it including an 80s style TF movie-like rock ballad. I do need the strategy guide to find all the stuff to unlock freebies. the plus is they have 2 members of the original cast in the game: Peter Cullen as prime and another guy (who sadly isn't playing his original characters of Spike and a few others). On an unrelated note that new spiderman game will feature the voice of the 80s Peter Parker from spidey and his amazing friends and who also was Bumblebee. The down side is once again Frank Welker got no love and isn't soundwave or megatron. Let ups all pray they make an Arcee figure from this game.

Yeah, admittingly its pretty weird that Frank Welker gets no love and Peter Cullen is getting called to duty to be prime like every 5 seconds it seems now. I mean all 3 movies, all the games, and even wanting him to be in a new show they're working on. You just can't replace Cullen as prime and keep fans happy. Now, Megatron oddly enough I find myself happier with newer renditions that have a deeper and more evil sounding tone, though I do like the scratchy old throw back voice that he did in the old show... hmm, maybe I should go watch a few dvd's of the series I have.

Frank Welker did megatron in the original TF movie game and sounded a bit off, I'm not sure if he's doing as much as he used to. His voice may be giving out. Be nice if the new show picked up where this game left off. Overall the voice acting was good with a few guys soundng like the originals even though the one guy didn't do any characters he did in the 80s. I would have liked to have seen Cullen do Ironhide too. Soundwave as a triplechanger rocks. I'm a bit sad that Arcee wasn't voiced by Sue Blu like in TFA and G1 but still not bad. Plus Stan bush with a new tF theme song can't be wrong, plus all the g1 refferences all the way down to how Jazz transforms during the end credits. I see this being the first of many games in this series and they're talking about it. I hope they make an Arcee figure for the generations line and a Slipstream since hasbro didn't give us one of her for TFA. Or a season 3 box set of tfa the jerks.

This game is pretty good. I do like the credits with the new song. I read somewhere that the game leads to the new cartoon and it will begin where the game left off but who knows

That would rock. This is exactly what Hasbro needs to revive sagging sales. The game is a bit too short and i'm annoyed that Arcee can only be used during multiplayer but overall this is a really good reboot of Generation 1. I Keep seeing new G1 references every time i play through it again. The credits were better than the 2 live action movies lol. If Soundwave's figure isn't a triplechanger i guarantee he will be when i'm done with him :D I really want an arcee from the game. there are just enough main characters in the game for them to make 2 figures per wave and have them all. I know megatron is in the next one. I'm going to do a review of the first wave of the Generations line soon. They said online (Atari) taht they think that this is the first in a series of games and hope to use it to open up a new branch of the franchise. the ending of the game made me laugh, you beat the game and think that it really has no ties to G1 left until the final scene.
