Thor Costume

I posted a Mjolnir (Thor's hammer) prop I made months ago. I created a costume to go with it that I've rocked at Halloween events, comic conventions and at my local comic shop. Thought I'd share some pics of this "self customization".





WIP PIcs: The faux leather was created with a craft foam base coated with plasti-dip to make it sturdy and leather-like. The circular metal plates are plastic floor slides that were mounted and painted. The armor was mounted to a sleeveless UnderArmour shirt.

also how did you make the helmut?

I started with a Thor helmet you can purchase from online costume shops and then added a faux chainmail skirt to the bottom rim of the helmet to give the shape of Thor's long hair. You can skip that step if you can grow your hair out but that wasn't really an option for me.

I do know because I made the Wonder Woman costume too. The base of the costume (the red torso) was a store bought Warrior Princess costume that we heavily modified. I painted the originally brown costume the deep red color you see and all the breast armor and belting and skirting was done with the foam and plasti-did technique.
