Can a good idea be used on...

More than one figure? I mean, if it is used one way on one figure, but somewhat differently on another...is this "acceptable"? Example: this part is used for the head on one custom and it's the tail for another figure? It really looks good on both figures. Is this a big when it comes to customs?

I don't think it is. When you're making a custom use what works best for that custom and don't even think about anything else. Besides there are only so many parts out there so it's inevitable that you'll reuse the same parts on different customs eventually.
