Neck peg problem

I was trying to take a head off of a figure(I used a hair dryer to heat the plastic) but when I removed the head,the neck peg SNAPPED and I can't get the peg out.(I used the x-acto knife to dig it out but that didn't work) so the peg is stuck inside the head. What should I do?

Heat up some water in the microwave for about 2 minutes, then drop the head into the water and give it a minute or so. Then use a small flat head screwdriver to pop the broken peg out.
