Head Swap Help

Ok this is probably stupid simple but I want to be sure about what I'm doing before I do it and potentially break/ruin the figure. I'm trying to remove the head on a Lord of the Rings Weathertop Strider. I didn't know if i should try the boiling method because i wasn't sure if the neck is hard or soft plastic. Does anyone know the best way to go about doing this? Also the figure has a light up feature, i dont know if that makes what his head rests on different. Thanks.

use a hair dryer, not boiling water, that way, you dont run the chance of jacking up the fig...

I feel like blow drying it will soften the head's plastic and I'll mess up its shape as I pull on the head.

Generally are all action figure heads on ball joints? Even after blow drying this seems really hard to pull out for a ball joint.

That one sounds like a t-peg than a ball-socket one. What do you plan to do with it?

I want to put it on a different Aragorn body.

either way,blow dry or boiling water; the plastic will soften. just use care when pulling it off, especially if it is a t-peg like LC is saying. they can be a PITA to remove, but it is possible, just keep working it...

I tried post a picture of the figure in case someone could tell what kind of peg the head is on by looking at it but it won't let me post links. What does a t-peg look like?

Ok i got the son of a b*tch off (boiling style), it was just a big ball joint. Thanks for your replies everyone. (i'm a super n00b at this stuff, i know)
