Does anyone have tip on how to give a figure without impeding hip/leg articulation?

You can take a skirt from another figure and slice it in the back work it in between the torsos and then glue the seem back. It all depends how well you want the figure to turn out. I have Supergirl's skirt.

Vinyl works pretty well. Though it can be a little tricky to paint.
