I have just put up my Website for the model.

There is not much there yet... But I'll be updating it often. I could have just thrown up all my pictures so far but instead I am going to use the blog to detail how I made everything and what kind of progress I am making.

Please stop by and have a look, tell me what you think.

Well, thank you kindly! I am glad this is going over well. I'd love to see pics of this Alleyway Crime Scene you speak of... I am really dying to see some other people's dioramas, you know... Trade ideas and such.

If anyone else has anything like this or even KNOWS about someone else who has done something like it, I'd love to see.

Also, I have made a few updates to my Progress Report, detailing the work I put into making my model. Please stop by and check it out.

Do you do any commission work? I've been wanting either a Blade La Magra ceremony chamber or a Blade II House of Pain dance club set. Those would be awesome.

I haven't done any commisision work... but that does not mean I wouldn't. The problem of course would be shipping. I have made these in such a way that they are strong enough that they won't damage if Hulk or the Sentinel should fall over or anything but I would be quite worried about putting them in a box and sending them across the continent.

And on the other hand, the cost would be insane. Let's say I did it for Cost of Materials + Minimun Wage. For this example, I'll look at the Apartment Building. Glue, Styrofoam, Paints, Balsa Wood, plastic and Varnish all could probably be purchased for about 40 bucks, if you shop smart. But the time and effort?

I made both Fire escapes by hand, probably took 6 hours designing, measuring, cutting, sanding, gluing them together and finally painting them.

The building took about 4 hours to cut and shape and sand both the foam and the wood frame.

Another 1 hour to glue it all together and sand it down.

Then I spent at LEAST 2 hours drawing all the bricks on and then Dremmeling them out.

Then my wife and I spent 2 hours painting in between each and every crack and I spent an additional 1 hour detailing for a combined 5 hours of effort.

Then 1 hour spent painting the surface and detailing the darker bricks.

At least 3 hours making the window Frames and another 1 hour attaching the windows to them and gluing them all on the building.

Then I spent another 2 hours painting on the graffiti and making the drain spout.

And the Roof probably took another 1 hour to make, paint and attach.

So let's see, that is 25 hours worth of effort. Minimum Wage is $8.00 an hour were I live so that comes to $200 plus material is $240.

And that says nothing about paying for the "Artistic Value" and shipping costs.

So unless you Live driving distance from Vancouver BC and have $250 laying around, I'd suggest an alternative...

Stop by my website, read my Progress Reports and make it yourself. Any and every question you have, I'd be happy to answer in my forums and I'll give you as many tips as I can.

As payment, just leave a kind word or two in the guestbook and tell your friends who are into this sort of thing about my site so I can show it off some more. :D

Yet another update is up... Bringing us almost to the present. (click the link in my Sig)

I move in ten days, so some better photos of the whole city at once are on the way... It also means I'll be expanding. I can't wait!

Oh, I also got a Tri-pod, hopefully I can do away with the flash and still get some great shots now!

Ok! My Final Backlog is up... From here on out, I'll be updating all new progress... It's been fun getting to this point and I hope the big move next week goes well... Even if it does not and my whole model gets destroyed in the process, I'll still post the footage for those folks that like to slow down when driving past car wrecks.

As always, the link to my page is right down there in my signature.

Due to a rather significant injury my daughter suffered almost two months ago, I've had neither the time nor the interest to continue my model.

However, she is doing quit well now, has healed miraclulously and is going to be just fine... So my interest in this model is returning.

I need to build a second shelf and put up some more road but soon after that, I plan to create another building, which I will film the construction of from start to finish as a part of my blog.

The reason I bring this up is that I have decided to ask for some input on what I should create next.

The Choices are:

A Daily Bugle, done movie style to mimick the Flat Iron Building in New York.

An X-Mansion or Avengers mansion, which would be a little out of place in my downtown themed area but could be very cool if done with care.

An old fashioned Marquee Theater

And a large church, modeled after the famous st. patrick's cathedral in New York, complete with a Bell tower such as the one where Spidey finally rid's himself of the Symbiote.

So those are the choices! If you'd like to see one of these over the other, please leave a comment here and I'll get started in the next few weeks.
