Transformers Movie Figures (holy crap!)

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

I had some spare money so I decided to get my monthly TF fix and saw the wall of Movie TF figures at TRU. They were on sale (like 2 bucks off, lol) but I didn't want most of them because they're small (Bumblebee, Barricade, the smaller vehicles). Then I saw the deluxe figs of Ironhide and Starcream, oh man, I bought Ironhide instantly. I got the deluxe Optimus Classics before (thanks Ratboy!) and loved the size and detail so I knew Ironhide would be good, and he is.

But then I had the feeling, maybe they made the other big guys too? So I went to a KB Store and yes! They had Blackout (army helicopter) and my favorite car, Ratchet! I didn't like how it looked as a robot though (too bulky and fat), so I passed...Blackout was okay, but not $20 more okay, lol.

And by the way, there's a Movie TF fig of Arcee!? The guy at TRU said she was a pink/black motorcycle, I'm guessing it's really rare?

Edit: Here we go, lol...apparently this is coming out with the second wave of Movie TFs, along with the Concept Camaro Bumblebee.

Lol, and it's not like a little burst of a handgun, it's like a war going off in your bedroom at night It'd be cool if all the sound effects went off at the same time...

Yeah I saw like five the other day and was a little surprised. I had to take the batteries out he was going off in the middle of the night and scaring me half to death.

I'm kinda surprised I've seen 3 Leader Brawls so far around here, I bought one of course because the robot isnt unnecessarily bulky and the sound effects are pretty cool, they go off on their own sometimes though...

Leader Brawl is the most worthwhile transformer to get. I really like leader Megs too. Too bad that they are really hyped up right now and scalpers and desperate parents are taking everything from the shelves.

Barricade is awesome. But the only thing I don't like about him is that his left arm is always shooting out when I don't want it to.

What no love for Barricade!!! I thought he was an excellent piece.

Looking back on it, the TF movie figs were pretty poor. The designs just weren't all that interesting and were too hard to make into toys. They just don't excite me, at all, with the exception of '08 Bumbles, Robovision prime and Arcee.

As far as I know most of the BB's that came in the first wave of deluxes are messed up in one way or another.

*some* Bumblebees are defective - one of the two tabs under the engine bit is far too long, and prone to breaking when trying to transform.

Bumblebee is defective thats why all of a sudden you don't see it in stores.

does those TFs that you pull back and they pop up in car mode. Do they count as auto morph?

just a heads up to others. The fast action battler frenzy looks a bit harder to Transform than other Deluxe figures. But you get used to it.

It's not like the entire figure is "auto-morphing" it's just one or two parts. If the whole thing was like that then I probably wouldn't buy it, it's fun transforming them but I think it's tedious having to move 6 parts just to make a foot pop-out :P

Not really it takes the whole fun out of trying to figure it out for yourself. They did that during the first run of beast wars toys and it wasn't very well received and they also tried this with some of the Machine Wars figure I too was not received well.

The movie line however does have figs similiar to that with it called the fast action battlers. They are not the most precisely accurate figures and are meant for smaller children who might have trouble transforming the more advanced ones.

Ah.. That would be cool though, wouldn't it?

they have automatic features like moving one part can move another one automatically. Some have button features that you press like Bumblebee's chest can fold down when you press a button. It doesn't transform the whole transformer.

They have a feature where if you move one part, a lot of other parts move at the same time so the transforming takes less time. For example, when you pull-down Ironhide's feet, the leg armor slides into place and the wheel rotates to the back of the leg, all in one motion, it's pretty cool!

yyup. I saw Bubmlebee and then like most of them went away. You hear about Target? They are releasing a Bumblebee exclusive. IT includes the Old camaro BB and the New concept camaro BB with battle damaged in car mode (only a spray with black )

I already said how horrid Brawl was in a review. Its mostly the arms, and how easily it falls apart. From what I can see the leader class Brawl should be cool. And yea, I got my Bumble when I still could, I have the new version.

LOL, hulk rage xD I almost broke my Ironhide a few times trying to get the arms to pop back under in truck-mode, and I got Brawl...the little tank...it's really little...and disappointing. I'm going to scrap it for parts since I can't return it now that destroyed the packaging...waiting for the Leader class Brawl...

I saw like 10 Bumblebees at the local TRU, went home, ate lunch, went back to TRU with money and they were all gone. @_@;;

yeah, happens to mine too. I push it up and press the automorph button. It sometimes works. Other times I really have to go HULK RAGE and it'll snap in place
