Toyfare Caption Contest Results

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Toyfare is having a contest and I told doc he should enter. FUNNY.

contest details:
CAPTION CORNUCOPIA!
Think you're funnier than ToyFare? We don't doubt it. That's why we're giving YOU the opportunity to show your funny to the world! (The part of it that visits this website daily.) Enter our Thanksgiving Caption Contest, and you'll have the chance to write your own TTT-style frames crafted in the spirit of the season by ToyFare's funny-smiths! But that's not all. Since we know that fame is a luscious but often cruel mistress, we're gonna give you more than $100 worth of X-Men 3: The Last Stand swag to gently cushion your return to normal, every day life! Why X-Men? Because the X-Men are like stuffing, and everyone loves stuffing.

These are the 3 pics

and thease are docs entries so far.

(cranky old guys sit down to eat)
Skeletor: What the hell is this? A slice o' bread!? Ain't no Indians be makin' sliced bread! They be makin' to'tillas and Gyros and whatnot! Is that'a lemon!? I had mo' food th'n this at fat camp!
Red Beard: Now, now, Bones, you know you can't eat solids without your special dentures...here, have a nice soft biscuit instead...
Skeletor: Biscuit!? Where's the cornbread!? Where's mah cornbread!?

Indian: You saved my people from the Screaming Star in the sky! For that I reward you with turkey!
Optimus: Er, thank you? I suppose we can start a museum of Earth food back on Cybertron.
Indian: Listen, it was either this or we give you an Indian name.
Optimus: What was the name?
Indian: Wonderous Truck Who Incinerated My Mother In Law While She Combed Her Hair
Optimus: I thought that was a Bigfoot grooming itself!
Indian: We thank you nonetheless.

and about your last post about lame entries DOC, YOUR RIGHT!

I just got my prize from the Heroes contest(I was mistake when I thought I'd won a place in the caption contest): a Limited Edtion Heroes comic from NBC with Nathan on the front. I looked on eBay and its going for like $60! Awesome for a free prize!

Meh. I saw the link Willy posted in the contest thread and I don't find it funny enough to win over a dozen other entries entered (wasn't the first rule KEEP ALL ENTRIES PG-13, oh well). I just don't find lewd humor all that funny. I should have made more penis jokes so I could at least get a book

I won a book to, it's just not indicated on the page. I got a PM from one of the editors.
I also won a book on the "Heroes" contest on another board for designing a costume for one of the characters. (but everyone something in that one because only like 15 people entered.)

Uh, alright the contest winners are announced, and not to have sour grapes or anything but, does anyone get the joke of the winning entry? I'm not a pop-culture hound so I don't get most jokes :P

Congratulations Kyle for winning that book, whatever it is

And I can't believe how few people entered the contest! These are good odds!

Nah, they said it's okay to edit the pictures if you want to. You could put a UFO in the background and it would be okay

Oh yeah and I made a one-liner. I know nothign about the characters so forgive the lack of depth in the captions xD

I'm not sure you can post word bubbles, Kyle. I think that's against the rules.

I hope someone wins the contest because they had something funny to say and not just because everyone else couldnt submit the entries properly.

I've been trying for some one-liners but they always get stretched out, hah...

if you do another one you should do Word bubbles like in you comics. and maybe think of some one liners, that seems to be what the staff does a lot.
