Cracking a female upper body

Posted in Custom Workstation

Is the process the same as male body? I have seen the tutorial for that one, but was wondering if there are chances I could ruin the figure I am working on. Also what is a good way to glue it back together?

The figure I am working on has the articulation at the top of the body like X23, Mystique, Marvel Girl etc...so its only the chest area that really gets cracked open not the whole body.

Its the jean/Marvel Girl fig. It looks like it can be cracked from the top but the bottom is sealed and looks like it would actually break off badly. I might just try carefully drilling a hole through the body to install this part. Just afraid I will hit the peg that body attaches too or the connection part of the joint for the inside of the arm.

Thanks for the advice. I ran into a bit of problem, I drilled in a bit to make a hole, and found the seem is perfectly melded together. Is it still possible to split it a part? It looks like its almost cast as a solid piece.

For everything, I drill a little hole in the side, jam a screw-driver in as far as I can, then pry that apart. Try to drill in a place you're just going to sculpt over to save yourself the repair time.
