New here, some questions

Posted in Custom Workstation

Hey everyone, long time lurker here. In the past I've done a lot of Transformers customs, but now I'm looking to expand a bit and do some marvel legends sort of stuff. One of my favorite Marvel villains is Sabretooth, so I thought I'd start there since the formula seems easy enough. I've got a bit of a problem though. As far as the Venom figures go, I really prefer the Mac Gargan upper body as opposed to the SMC Venom. Doesn't have the button on the back, the rubber face (I think), or the tiny hands. However, it really really irks me that his legs don't have a swivel thigh joint. So my question is, has anyone tried putting the SMC Venoms legs on Macs body? If so, how easy was it to do? I'm sure it would involve cracking the torso open, which is probably the thing I'm least comfortable doing with a figure, but if someone has gotten some good results out of it, I think it would be worth a shot.

I'm working on a sabor tooth write now. I am yousing that venom for a base. I didn't switch the legs but I did crack the body open. It was a very easy mold split because there wern't any mettel pins holding him togethor.

You could always add the swivel joint to the thigh. Seems the easiest way to go IMO.
