how do I open a figure/ install a LED light

Posted in Custom Workstation

I've seen a lot of Iron Man figures with LED lights and I want to do put a LED light inside my Mark III Iron Man movie figure (the repulsor beam version)
I was wondering how do I open a figure & install a LED light?

I didn't want to start a new thread so I searched for LED Lights and installation, which brought me here. However, the link you posted is no longer available.

Would anyone know of a place to purchase LED Lights and batteries online or any brick and mortar shops?

Also - I assume the project you posted requires a soldering gun - what type/brand/model do you suggest? Also, how about drill bit size for drilling the eyes?

Thank you,

Hi guys, this is helpful but I am wondering if someone could post a little more detail (for those of us who are REALLY NEW newbies), I.e.

-The proper names for each part.
-Where we can buy all these parts.
-What is a resistor, specifically with regards to this project?
-I don't see the switch in the first photo. Is there a proper name for this switch?
-I want to do (conceptually) the same thing but in a 1:18 scale plastic car - so that would mean about 5 LEDs total - one for each headlight (2), one for each taillight (2), and one for the console/cockpit (1). What would I need that's diferent.

Thank you,
jbmalik
