How do you keep your figures from falling on shelves?

Posted in Action Figure Chatter

Hi

Just wondering what you guys do to keep your figures from falling down and knocking other figures on their way down?

Thanks

Patrick

A lot of my figures are free standing, but I have a few ways to keep particular figures standing upright.

1). Super Glue

I probably should NOT have used Super Glue, but I thought it over and it made the most sense at the time. The only figures I glued down were my JLU figures. I did this because of the shear number of them and because they are on the highest shelf I have.

I also glued together the tiered stands they stand on. In case of a Hurricane I can pull them all down at once and put them away to be safe. Unfortunately a few of them have weak ankles and they bent forward but did not fall because they were glued down. Not all of them are glued down, but a lot of the are and I glued the back of the capes to the tier behind them to help upright a few of the figures.

2). Magnet Stands

I got them from MiniMagStands, but they have since gone out of business. They use to sell the stands and the metal display systems to use them with. I had the tiered display stands cut to custom widths to fit the custom bookcases I had built. The magnet stands have a very string magnet and a peg to fit in the peg hole. The peg fits most Kenner / Hasbro figures as well as a few others. On some JLU figures I cut the peg off the stand and glued the stand to the figures feet

3). Figure Stands

A lot of figures come with stands. In most cases I used the stands the figure came with

same thing with my bioshock big sister, her tank/cage throws her off balance and she eventually tips over.

You could try doublesided tape on the feet but I don't know how well that works. luckily most transformers stand on their own. I'm modifying the feet of my figures to accept whatever stands I can find. Sure it ruins any future worth but better than them falling 5' and exploding on the floor.

I made my own stands out of acrylic plexi-glass and a dowel rod.

Hoping these will work well for Legends and such, I hear they will.

I have the same figure and the same problem(Frank doesn't like to stand on his own either), I just leave her in the back, leaned against the back of the shelf.

Thats not a bad idea, or get some kind of flat base(like the ones for GIJoes) and glue her to it, should help a bit.

Hi

I need to find something to stick under their feet for a few of them. I have "Julia" from hellraiser series 2 and she just won't stand up I have to lean her against the back of the shelf, then I have "T-700" from terminator salvation and it stands a little better than "Julia" but it falls too after a while, he can't handle the big rifle he is holding.LOL!

After a while of things sitting on a shelf, they start to tip. When they tip, that thing called gravity takes effect and they fall. So to answer your question, I don't, I just pick stuff up after the dominos are done falling.
