| Rio Blast Custom Action Figure | This was the 2nd go around for Windblock2002, Crisco and myself on customizing and posting the same MOTU character we agreed on at a prior date. Last time was Roboto and this time we agreed on Rio Blast.
The benefit of this, I think, has been we get to see one another’s interpretation of the character. We all tackle this project with different methods and different styles. No, our customs don’t come out looking the same but I feel that is the best part. Each of us thinks of something that the others may not have. That is the great thing about customizing itself. If someone can bring something new to a character, then on some level I would say the custom is successful. Enough preachin, more talkin.
Rio Blast: Cybernetic Cowboy & Mechanical Gunfighter came to mind. My design was an attempt to follow as closely as I could to the Mini Statue yet wanted to bring a little something of myself to the project.
Obvious difference is the red chest armor rather than blue. Red is my favorite color and I wanted to try out this new paint I picked up. I did sculpt the technology on his chest. The arm is interchangeable. One arm is simply a cybernetic replacement and the other was my answer to the six shooter that the mini statue is sporting. I tried to make my own six shooter but A) realistic plastic guns are hard to find and B) the one I did find was made out of this really cheap plastic that shattered when I tried to use it.
I decided that six shooters are good but a Gatling gun would work for Rio. I just imagine Rio being able to morph his cybernetic arm into the Gatling gun when massive fire power is called for. Anyway thanks for looking. Comments and Feedback always welcome.

Head and right arm: LCBH Striker
Lower legs and feet: ML Mr. Sinister
Gatling Gun arm: Upper Triple H aggression, lower 2002 MOTU TrapJaw, Gatling Gun from a broken Monev the Gale
Gun belt and guns: Sectaurs 80’s figure. |

I agree, this has been the stand out Rio Blast - the Gattling gun really seals the deal  nyI would recommend all customiser to try the "MOTU Mini Contest" with your friends. Pick any character, not just MOTU and all post pics at an agreed upon time. (it gets a little tricky when you are on opposite sides of the planet) The excitement of seeing other interpretations of the one character is great. |
| Thanks for the compliments. I wasnt sure about the Gatling gun honestly. Would have loved to have the sixshooter like Crisco's but ya use what is available. Glad the Red Chest armor (foamie sheets) worked out too. I was at several points about to go blue but, got the Superman Blue Superman Red feeling going. Thanks Cerebus, great thing about doing these small coordinating of a single character projects, there is a alittle bit of competetion in the sense we want to do our best and bring something different to the character, I would consider us all winners.
