Most everyone who knows this character knows him as Pyramid Head. But after a little digging into his background, discovered another name he goes by - Xuchilbara. It's ominous enough to send chills just hearing it uttered, without even having to run into this skin-peeling, large-knife, blood-soaked monstrosity.
The helmet was assembled by cutting triangular shapes from clamshell, glued together then sculpted along the sides to reinforce the structure. The grid portion was cut from a cake tray that happened to have the same kind of grid pattern. It's mounted on a swivel head, allowing articulation. Some sculpt work was done on the base figure to bring out the wound details, and replaced his left hand with a better grip to hold the Great Knife. The knife was also cut from a sheet of clamshell, repainted for added realism. Used canvas material for the apron and applied loads of gel medium along the bottom. Once the gel hardened, it allowed the figure to stand balanced.
This character is solidly horrifying enough to deserve his own movie. At least get another cameo in a new horror flick - just to see that skin peeling scene again!
