Inspector 71 or as we also know him Harry Callahan-or Dirty Harry!
I cannot believe that no toy company such as McFarlane or NECA has picked up doing at least one Dirty Harry figure-I mean what an iconic film!!! I'm a fan of Clint anyway but I can think of several characters Clint has played over the years to warrant his own series of figures!! Spaghetti Westerns,Dirty Harry,Unforgiven,Josie Whales, the list goes on-so c'mon NECA/McFarlane get your finger out and start sculpting!!!!!!!
Dirty Harry remains today as one of my all time favourites!! I watched it again the other day and it inspired me to do this custom.
I didn't want to use a LCBH,DCU or ML figure -they have fantastic articulation but are too muscle bound for Dirty Harry-plus I didn't feel that this figure requires super articulation.
I stumbled on a range of figures from the TV series Angel in a discount shop and picked up a Wesley figure as this had a jacket and trousers ready sculpted-so saves me a lot of work! Plus as a bonus I also got a pair of spectacles which I used as the base to turn into Harry's sunglasses-
The face sculpt wasn't TOO bad-sure it's not an exact likeness of Clint-but then it isn't supposed to be him-but with the right hair style and a bit of creative painting I think he now passes as a reasonable likeness to Dirty Harry-even without the .44 Magnum I think most people would guess who this is based on the hair style alone!!!
So no chopping of different figures here I trimmed the hair down sculpted a "Dirty Harry" style hair-do on the figure with Milliput, used a bit of plasticard to cover the glasses as they were not the correct shape for Harry's and the Magnum is from my spares box-can't remember where this was from-probably a cheap knock off figure in some distant past!
I added the collar to his tank top and gave it a few crease lines for a bit of interest and one paint job later I present Dirty Harry.
Hope you like him-any comments, etc always welcomed
