Watchmen-what a comic! What a story-and soon to be seen as a movie-about time!!! But before all the movie hype gets going I present my version of The Comedian.
I always wanted a Comedian figure-I loved his character in the comic book so finally after many years I got around to making a Comedian for myself.
Recipe:
Head-LCBH Dredd-removed helmet and sculpted the hair, the scar and cigar.
Body-ML Power Man -removed the chains and collar-I liked the bulk of the figure and the Comedian was a big guy so it seemed a good choice.
Arms-ML Wolverine (the first one) took off claws-again the big arms add to the figure-there is a quote in the comic which says" ...he had muscles like a weight-lifter" and these arms fit the bill just right.
Legs- ML Stealth Wolverine.
The straps/pads and weapons were from bits and bobs I had in my spares/scraps-a comic accurate paint job and voila -The Comedian
I really like the costume and wanted to portray Eddie as an older man-hence the grey hair-
I may also do an alternative head with the Gimp mask on-so I could be sending an update soon
Hope you like him--comments/questions always welcome
cheers
I've seen photos of DC Directs unproduced Watchmen figures and they were actually very good-very accurate to the comic.
But if DC Direct offer me a job I wouldn't think twice about it!! lol!!
thanks again mate
cheers
I am planning on doing some of the other characters too-there will definately be a Rorschach (naturally!!!)
and to echo Solitaire'scomments-YES READ WATCHMEN NOW BEFORE THE MOVIE COMES OUT!!!!! DO IT NOW!!! it is one of the all time defining moments in comics-the story and artwork are second to none-it proves to the World that comics are not just for kids and can be considered serious literature-and again in agreement with Solitaire-I too find something new everytime I look at the book-there are very few stories which have had that effect on me and I think Watchmen was the first!!!
thanks again
cheers
You think I should read Watchmen?
