I'd only ever read about Aaron Stack during the little known X-Men story where Shadowcat had to help Aaron and Shield against the Red Skull to help Douglock or something... anyhoo he seems to have been a hot property towards the end of last year and with me having another Jocasta comissioned I thought now would be a good time to do my version of him. Obviously a lot of the recipe with the Sentinel cables has been done before but he's DD body and head, Madman Legs and Havok hands with an XMC Gambit coat. The saw came from a F4 Movie figure and the plasma cannon is a trimmed down Ruby Quartz Cyclops gun. The arms have rare earth magnets below the elbow so the hands, cables, saw and cannon can be swapped out. I tried it with the legs too at first but it made the figure too unstable. Sculpted boot tops, collar and buckle, belt is darice and leg straps red elastic band. I used my balloon recipe for the sleeves which not only allows the posability again but also means they can be rolled up when attaching the larger weapons. Hope I did him justice!
atgscl - the balloons never fail I just need find something to use the ends for lol. If you get large enough magnets, they'd hold fine I should imagine.
warrack - size queen, you? haha. Glad someoneelse remembers that story too. He's like some oversized swiss army knife these days
Esbat - whatever floats your boat dude! Mmmmm beer...
Lobao - I'm catching up on my next wavers atm so this may the first of a few!
fastfreddie - I've decided when I get my hands on a spare Archangel I'll do the classic version too.
Cheers for all the comments though peeps
Seriously, this is the best custom ever. I suggest mailing this to Warren Ellis so we can get more Nextwave, baby!
His robot brain needs beer!
So I'm glad to see this Nextwave/Marvel Zombies 3 version of Machine man so well made. I especially love that you included more than his extended arms. I love all the impossibly oversized crud that comes out of Machine Man (am I a size-queen?) and I think with the saw and cannon you've really captured that.
The interchangeable parts are really cool. I am going to try to make a removeable lower torso for my next custom using those same magnets. Hopefully it will work...
and the ballon sleeves work great because they can be rolled up to allow for the cannon to be atttached and they still look good when rolled up.
