The first time I saw Manta was in the X-men 90’s cartoon, and thought she was really a cool character. I’ve been wanting to make her from some time, and finally she has arrived. In the cartoon, she opens her cloak and a powerful blast is emitted from the inside of the cape. Manta is another original Shi’ar Imperial Guard member. I think this may be the first Manta figure here on FigureRealm, so all you X-men/Shi’ar Imperial Guard fans are challenged to make one too!
I used a Storm figure as the base, shaved off the hair and resculpted the head/mask added gloves and refinished the boots. Painted her head to toe. For the cape I head sewn the cape black on the back and yellow on the inside. I’m very pleased with the way it turned out especially considering I never sewn anything before.
