Inspired by a recent drawing done by the awesomest artist in the world, Stjepan Sejic. This is nowhere near an exact replica of his Skeletor, but this has become one of my new White Whales, to make that Skeletor flesh (er, I mean bone, uh, I mean plastic...whatever...) so I'll make it again once I've collected the right pieces. See a link to the picture and more pics of my mediocre representation in the topic!
I didn't really do much for this, the skin was already how I wanted it and if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The clothes are already black and weathered, the armor already looks old and battered. What I did do was attach Wraal's cape to the Skeletor's accoutre...accontra...acc...shoulder things. The purple armor bits were completely purple so I repainted some areas, like making the bones look like bones. I also did some stuff to the skirt to make it lay flat.
Sculpted over the head, then used Cerebus's super secret ancient technique to paint it (dry-bushing). I figured, if I'm going to half-bum this figure, then I might as well make something stand-out so it isn't completely ignored.
The hair and hood are removable (interchangeable).
Oooooh I found a sword to paint! I'm still messing with the color scheme but I like it so far
With brightness:
Oh yeah, and his right bicep is backwards xD
I love his depiction of Skeletor, he looks like Cyborg Superman from an old Green Lantern comic.
Also, I think I'll paint some more stuff on the armor, it looks boring still...
I personally like the idea of keepin Wraal's darker color also; while the classic Skeletor has blue skin, it looks more threatening in a darker shade.
P.s. Sorry bout the name....I'm working on changing it before I start customizing some figs
