Recently got my hands on an old Dare Devil but to my disappointment he felt like he was about to fall apart. I also had gotten one of the Dark Knight movie figures and was disappointed in general about it. So got to thinking combining the two. A head swap and a dry brush of red paint later. A non Ben Affleck movie style Dare Devil.
Thanks for looking. Feedback and Comments welcome.
Question: What colours did you mix to achieve that dark-ish red color? I'm gearing up to paint an Iron man figure of mine, and wanted to avoid a cartoony-red. I'm thinking you mixed a basic red with brown, and possibly some dark green or yellow?
Thanks,
-Blayne
Actually I painted it a base coat of flat black of apple barrel paint. Then dry brushed apple barrel,#20784 red apple paint. It was about 2 coats of dry brushing. Then for like the biceps and boots and anything else I dry brushed a little more of the apple barrel red to those spots. I thought about making it look more leathery but the red really didn't need it.
Thanks for all the comments and feedback.
