After reading 5+ trade paperback volumes of Robert Kirkman's Zombie epic, "The Walking Dead" I decided to create a few reanimated dead myself. I was also inspired by the Zombie-army scene in the Ghost Rider comic where part of the Devil possess the corpse of (the recently deceased) "Mad Jack".
-Using a Simon Gareth Zombie figure, I dremmeled out one eye for a dried, sunken look.
-Removed the existing hair, and sculpted over the indent with Aves sculpt.
-Textured the sculpt to match the skin texture
-I repainted the zombie's skin tone to be gray, and dry brushed on various layers of grey-blue, grey-green, and three different shades of dirt on the hands, knees, and upper chest.
-Painted the remaining eye a milky blue-white
-Painted the figures clothing Grey, and sealed all of it's joints using Krazyglue-superglue
-I also used Citadel Black ink to paint dark detail into the crevices of this figure (between ribs, around the mouth, between the tendons, on the feet/hands, etc.) This gives an excellent aged, dessicated effect to this ghoul.
-Sealed the entire figure with Vallajo Matte finish Varnish.
-The figure's base-stand was originally a standard ML base. I added a layer of hobby plaster, sanded it down, and painted it black. Three layers of Grey-Blue dry brushing later, I sealed it with a coat of Krazyglue-superglue, and x2 coats of Vallejo Matte finish varnish to prevent wear. :)
