Luke Cage: Although he's the epitomy of cool these days, Cage is still mocked for his 'tiara-wearing' period. I'm still fond of the old costume as it was designed by my all-time favourite Marvel artist, John Romita, Sr. "Sweet Christmas!"
This figure was created years ago, before the release of the ToyBiz Luke Cage (which I think they did a great job on). For these photos, I recently touched up the paint job with dry-brushing, hilighting, and flat sealant spray.
Recipe: The box-set Wolverine was used for the arms, torso, neck, and feet. The legs are from SMC Morbius. The head is ML Iceman. The chain belt is a piece of a bracelet. The rest is from rubber and plastic parts. The piece du resistance of this figure is the hair. It was made from black earphone foam covering. It was very tricky glueing this on, let me tell you! When the glue touched certain parts of it, they turned brown, and I was certain the foam wouldn't handle paint! But in the end, it all worked out. Photos by Nara.
