To go with my Drizzt figure from R.A. Salvatore's Forgotten Realms book, I created Drizzt's halfling friend Regis. I gave him an altered short sword and his hypnotizing ruby pendant. I molded him a fair sized belly and used a re-painted Luke Skywalker head.

Yeah I hear ya Mr. X. It was a little hard. I got over it though - they can be repurchased in bulk on a website easily enough. But my mom who remembers paying top dollar for most of my figures cringed when I went through the list of parts I used to make these customs...

I still think it looks cool. The only problem youd have with a LOTR Hobbit figure is the scale size. If hes supposed to be shorter then Drizzt then the Hobbit fig may have been to tall, they are at at least 3'' in height.
Lol I have tons of the SW stuff but I don't think I could bring myself to customize them...

There's not much exaggeration going on, I've been wanting to make on of my old D&d characters, he's a Halfling too and you've just given me an idea on how to do it. You've go a good start and I'm looking forward to more.

Thanks, even if half of that is exaggeration I'm still very happy to hear it. It might have been easier for me to get a LOTR hobbit figure for the base but 1. I didn't have any, 2. I really didn't want to spend any more money on this figure than I had to and 3. Like Mr.X I'm low on patience at times. I used a jawa for most of the pieces (even recycled the cape from the jawa's skirt thing) but the jawa head had been placed on a stump so I had to hack that off and use a piece of a heated safety pin to connect the Skywalker head and still have it pivot. Luckily I positioned the pin correctly my first try. I used a lighter to add the "dirt" to the cape. I just wish I had thought to do it before I glued the cape to the figure... It probably would have been safer to do the steps that require fire AWAY from the flammable products. Oops. But I'm new and still entitled to make some mistakes! While I wait for my Ka-Zar figure to come I will see if I can make a Cattie-Brie (another main character from these novels). With any luck she will be done and listed in a day or two.
