I've wanted to do a set of figures from the quintessential 80s gang movie, "The Warriors" for a while now and finally found a suitable base figure. I tackled Swan first - he is the the gang's Warchief (second in command) and the central character in the movie. After the gang's Warlord (leader) is killed, Swan has to lead a small group of Warriors through miles of rival territory to reach their home turf. To make matters worse, every gang in NY is hunting them for a murder they didn't commit.
The recipe is basically a modified Wolverine from the Marvel Selects line. To make the head, I made a push mold of a Thor figures face and once I had a Sculpty cast, I modified it and sculpted the 80s hairdo. The vest is made from pleather with vinyl trim. The vest's rocker and Warbird symbol are laminated color printouts that I glued down and sealed. Painted the head, chest, jeans, shoes - the arms wre already flesh colored so no paint rub!
My goal is to do all 9 Warriors members featured in the movie. Ajax is up next.
