I really liked the shiny leather look combined with matte finishes on black figures, so I decided to combine three Batmen into one rockin' custom:

-Movie Master (MM) Dark Knight Batman
-DC Universe Classics (DCUC) Batman
-DC Superheroes Shadow Batman

Removed the head/cowl/cape from the DCUC Batman, and the legs from the Shadow Batman. Part-swapped those on to a MM Batman. I modified the head peg and removing the belt, and trimmed/sanded the shoulder pads to improve the arm articulation with the new swept back DCUC Cape.

Painted the whole figure with Vallejo Black acrylic to even out the different black plastics. To achieve the super glossy 'patent leather' look on the shoulder pads, Bat-logo, boots, and forearm gauntlets - I applied Krazy Glue with a pin, smoothing it over the area while still in liquid form.

Sealed the whole figure (minus the Krazy glued areas) with Matte Vallejo Varnish.

The clear 'flight' stand was purchased from a seller on a website - they're fantastic display accessories. :)

Cheers,
-Blayne

I'm also a huge fan of mixing black siny and mattes..... and this design looks awesome! Brilliant work

Thanks man. I loved the armored body from the Movie Masters line, but really disliked the original head. I think this custom has the best of both worlds .

Nope - the head and cape used came from the DC Universe Classics Batman figure. I was really hesitant to disassemble my DCUC Batman for this project, but decided to bite the bullet (not the one that killed Wayne's parents though....) - and the final result looks and feels awesome.
I liked how using the DCUC lower legs added a tiny bit of height to the figure, while keeping it in scale. He's not as shrimpy as the regular Movie Masters figures, which works well when standing beside other toys that aren't in that 5.5" scale.

I love how everything came out, the head especially completes this unique look.

Very cool. That's not the original head is it?
