Shang-Chi, aka the Master of Kung Fu, is one of Marvel's pre-eminent martial artists. Raised by his evil father, Fu Manchu, he eventually opposed the would-be world conqueror, and joined British intelligence. He fought alongside the likes of Iron Fist and Spider-Man before joining the Heroes For Hire.
For this figure, I have depicted Shang not in his regular red and gold karate suit, but what he wore in his 2002 Max mini-series. For the top half I cheated and use a non-ML related Street Fighter figure (Ryu, I believe). The face and hair were completely re-worked (I replaced the nose with a ML one), and repainted. Patriot provided the legs and feet, and the sash is from Iron Fist. The arm braces are made from rubber. I threw a lot of different paints on the figure until it looked half-decent. Being a fighter, I thought it'd look appropriate if he looked bruised-up, so I put darker paint especially around the rib-cage area. Photos by Nara and myself.
