Hard Boiled-what a piece of work-
the artwork simply blew me away-if anyone hasn't read it then I highly recommend it purely for the artwork if nothing else!!!!Geof Darrow is a genius!!
this book came out in 1990 and even today after numerous readings I still get a HUGE kick from it and I have always wanted to make a figure of Nixon.
I can't believe that no toy company has made it yet-the robots, the gore, the immense attention to minute details, the whole look of the book is something right up the street of ,say,McFarlane or Mezco or someone like that-
Nixon is a robot-a cyborg -with human tissue ,skin, blood etc but a robot skeleton and brain, etc so he can take and dish out a huge amount of punishment -and he does in the 3 book series.
My custom figure is based on the amazing artwork of Geof Darrow-which I drew my inspiration from.
This figure is not entirely comic accurate -it has been one I have wanted for many a year and many prior attempts-but I'm satisfied with this one(so far!!)
figure-1/6 scale figure
head- Robert Duval custom headsculpt, plasters on face-strips of plasticard, modelling clay to create swollen eye, bullet wound to head
clothes-various 1/6 scale
hands- custom bought rubber hands with wire to pose-plumbers tape wrapped around broken fingers
Nixon's gun- 1/6 scale Auto 9/.44 magnum/shotgun barrel combined with plasticard to create his "Slammer" pistol
various 1/6 scale misc items painted and glued to figure-cutlery,switch blade, etc
sign in knee-plasticard and painted
custom mixed blood liberally covering figure, gloss varnish to create wet look.
Hope you like him-feedback,etc,all welcome
